PALAZZO SGOBBA REOPENS

The Sgobba family at the invitation of the Pro Loco reopens the doors of the prestigious nineteenth-century building, located in Corso Italia which has been closed for some time and has recently been restored. A frame that revives the memories and environments of the past.

THE AUTUMN GARDEN IS INAUGURATED

The presentation of the events dedicated to the “Saperi & Sapori” calendar began right in the garden of Palazzo Sgobba. Food, traditions and art – Autumn Festival, a naturalistic setting enclosed within the nineteenth-century building; on display for the occasion fruit trees typical of the autumn season such as strawberry trees, carob trees, azaroles, pomegranates and others with display of fruit and vegetables. At the end, the participants were able to enjoy an aperitif prepared by the young students of the IISS "Consoli" Institute of Hospitality.

COLORS ON CANVAS

Artistic exhibition of paintings by emerging and professional authors, working of paintings in live mode for the curious patrons.

GIARDINO FRUTTI DIMENTICATI

L’antico convento, oggi comune di Castellana Grotte, trasformato solo per qualche settimana in un accogliente giardino, con sapori e colori degli arbusti tipici dell’autunno di ieri e di oggi, compresi frutti che sempre più restano fuori dalle nostre tavole.
Per questa terza edizione della Festa d’Autunno, ideata e promossa dalla Pro Loco Castellana Grotte “Don Nicola Pellegrino” in collaborazione con l’amministrazione comunale, si è scelto di collocare all’interno del palazzo di città l’iconico giardino, colorando, profumando e decorando la casa municipale.
Nespola, sorba, mela cotogna, corbezzolo, corniolo, melograno e tanti altri frutti che riportano alla memoria di molti sapori e ricordi ormai sopiti e ben noti alle nostre nonne, che da questi frutti spontanei o coltivati in aree marginali sapevano ricavare piatti gustosi e ottime marmellate.

“A MEGA TART”

10 meters of tart, with the typical autumn flavors with the inevitable forgotten fruits, prepared by the students of the Castellana Hotel Institute, cut into over a thousand portions and offered to all visitors.

LA PIRAMIDE DEI FRUTTI DIMENTICATI

Alta quasi 3 m con i gradoni decorati da 1000 tortini al sapore di melograno, melocotogno e non solo, realizzati dal settore pasticceria dell’IISS Consoli, dalla sfida di realizzare un dolce in lunghezza del 2022 alla realizzazione di una piramide in altezza.

JOY IN THE SQUARE

The evening began with the theatrical performance of "La Fabbrica del Sorriso", a packed Piazza Nicola and Costa, an incursion with satire scenes re-proposed by the group which amused the participants.

AUTUMN SYMPHONY

In the fascinating entrance hall of Palazzo Sgobba, guests are the musicians of the "Banda di Castellana Grotte", symphonies that welcome and accompany visitors on their discovery of the nineteenth-century building.

HOW IT WAS PLAYED ONCE

About 30 students experienced the traditional games first-hand; team challenges, uses that are no longer known and used by the new generations.

AUTUMN BREATH AT SCHOOL

About 40 students between the two middle schools in the area were involved by the Vice President Agr. Bell Alexander in a theoretical-practical laboratory with some seasonal fruits.

ANCIENT FRUITS, BETWEEN REDISCOVERY AND ENHANCEMENT

The conference involving the students of the IISS Consoli, Castellana Grotte hotel industry, held right at the institute in via Rosatella, in the presence of qualified speakers including the agronomist dott. Pasquale Venerito, CRSFA Locorotondo researcher, prof. Franca Carrisi, Valentina Centonze and prof. Vito Rinaldi, of the IISS Consoli, of the entrepreneur Dr. Luciana Cipriana and of the biologist manager of the nutrition clinic Valeria Tutino.

Realizzata dagli studenti dell’IISS Consoli, con la frutta di stazione il celebre volto ispirato alle opere di Giuseppe Arcimboldo

PALIO DELLE BOTTI

A colorare l’angolo delle cantine premiate dai Tre bicchieri del gambero rosso, le botti decorate del Palio della botti di Gioia del Colle. Il Palio delle Botti è una gara di forza e di abilità che consiste nello spingere delle barrique da 225 l, interamente dipinte da artisti, per le vie della città di Gioia del Colle.
